9 COVID19 deaths; total 314

Nine COVID19 deaths took place in J&K in the last 24 hours, J&K Government said, the cumulative total of the casualties attributed to the viral illness reaching 314 here.

A 48 year old woman from Nowshera area of Srinagar, who was hypertensive and had no other reported underlying ailment died today at SKIMS Soura. A doctor at the hospital said the patient was admitted on 14 July with bilateral pneumonia and tested COVID19 positive. She died due to acute respiratory distress syndrome, the doctor said.

   

Another Srinagar resident, a 70 year old man from Basant Bagh Srinagar admitted to SMHS Hospital also lost life to COVID19 today. A doctor said the patient was suffering from bilateral pneumonia and had many underlying ailments.

At SMHS Hospital, a 65 year old man from Sheikhaar Pulwama lost life earlier in the day. The patient had been admitted on 23 July with pneumonia and was known to have hypertension and diabetes, a doctor said.

At SKIMS, a 59 year old man from Kupwara’s Handwara area died on Sunday afternoon. The patient was COVID19 positive with respiratory distress, a doctor said.

Another Kupwara resident was admitted to SMHS Hospital and later shifted to Chest Diseases Hospital where he died today. A doctor said the deceased was a police personnel from Kandi area of the district and was suffering from low oxygen saturation. He died early Sunday morning.

A 68 year old man from Safa Kadal area of Srinagar died at CD Hospital today, a doctor said. He was admitted with acute respiratory distress and hypertension.

Bandipora district recorded a COVID19 casualty today. The deceased was from Nebrepora area in the district and was 68 year old. A health official said he was not admitted in any hospital but his COVID19 sample tested positive.

An elderly Budgam resident died at Chest Diseases Hospital today. The deceased belonged to Beerwah area.

In Jammu, a 75 year old woman died at the Chest Diseases Hospital Bakshi Nagar late Saturday night. The patient was a resident of Satwari Jammu.
