Srinagar, Dec 5: Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Law and Order (L&O), Vijay Kumar on Tuesday reviewed the security grid of Srinagar and called for more synergy during a high-level meeting here.
“To strengthen and synergise the security grid of Srinagar district, ADGP Law and Order Vijay Kumar chaired a joint meeting of Police and CRPF at the Police Control Room (PCR) Srinagar on Tuesday,” officials said. “IG CRPF, IG Kashmir, DDIB, DIG CKR, DIG CRPF North and DIG CRPF South, SSP Srinagar, SSP PCR Kashmir, all the Nodal COs of CRPF, SP Cargo Srinagar, all Zonal SPs and SDPOs of Srinagar participated in the meeting.”
Officials said that during the meeting a detailed security plan for the Srinagar district was discussed threadbare where CRPF and Police were acquainted with their new roles suggestions were also taken from the field officers to have a fair idea of the shortcomings, avoid confusion at the cutting edge to make it a perfect and comprehensive counter-terrorism grid.
“Besides ADGP L&O, IG CRPF, and IGP Kashmir also contributed their valid suggestions,” officials said. “The ADGP L&O stressed upon all the officers that the idea of a perfect security grid is only possible if the things discussed are implemented on the ground in letter and spirit.”
The officials said that the ADGP L&O focused on strengthening the function of the joint control room besides better communication mechanisms between field officers of CRPF and JKP in the city.
“The area domination of water bodies was also discussed and included in the area domination plan in today’s meeting. ADGP also instructed SSP Srinagar to conduct a joint mock drill to handle post-terror incident situations in the city,” they said.
