Agriculture employee dies of COVID19 in Jammu

A 47-year old agriculture department employee died of Covid19 at GMC Jammu on Tuesday, while 10 CISF personnel have tested positive in Kathua.

“We had taken his sample two days back. He was confirmed positive and today he died of Covid19 in the hospital,” said SDM and Nodal Officer, Satish Sharma.

   

He was posted in the Directorate of Agriculture in Gole Pulli in Talab Tillo. This was the second death from Talab Tillo. Earlier, National Conference youth leader had died due to Covid19.

A resident of Saini Mohalla, the employee was admitted in the Critical Care Unit (CCU) of the GMC on July 12 evening and his sample for covid test was taken the next day, according to an official.

“The deceased had high fever and cough when he was admitted,” said the official. The health authorities have taken samples of five members of his family and their report is awaited.

The administration has imposed restrictions in Talab Tillo blocking entry and exit points with barbed wires. Only the essential services have been allowed in the containment zones. In this area, a private hospital was sealed by the authorities yesterday after a pregnant lady was tested positive for Covid19 post cesarean.

DOCTOR TESTS POSITIVE IN GMC JAMMU:

A doctor from the surgery department has tested positive for Covid19 and he has been isolated in the GMC Hospital, said Principal GMC Jammu, Dr Naseeb Chand Dingra.

The doctor was living at the PG Boys Hostel at Bakshi Nagar and his contacts were traced in the hostel.

10 CISF PERSONNEL TEST POSITIVE IN KATHUA:

10 Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel have been tested positive in Kathua.

“They have been quarantined at Police Training School in Kathua,” said Deputy Commissioner Kathua, OP Bhagat.
