Body of missing Sopore man recovered from Jhelum in Srinagar

Sopore, May 5: The body of a man from Sopore, who had been missing since April 26 from the Maisuma area of Srinagar, was recovered from River Jhelum near Veer Chattabal area of Srinagar on Sunday morning.

The man has been identified as Irshad Ahmad Peer, son of Shariefuddin Peer of Peer Mohalla Harwan Zaingair Sopore.

   

Irshad was identified by his family after his body was recovered from the River Jhelum on Sunday morning.

Earlier, the family of the deceased said that his identity card and mobile phone were found at Amira Kadal in Srinagar, a day after he went missing.

They said that soon after his missing they tried hard to locate him

The deceased was the father of four little girls.

Meanwhile, hundreds of people took part in his last rites at his native village on Sunday evening.
