Covid19 situation likely to stay for 6 to 7 months in J&K: CS

The Jammu and Kashmir administration asked people not to lower their guard against the novel coronavirus as “it is likely to stay for the next six to seven months”. Thanking the people for their “unprecedented cooperation” amid covid19 lockdown, the CS said, “We however need to remain cautious. The covid situation is likely to remain for six to seven months.”

Urging people to wear masks and practice social distancing,he said Jammu and Kashmir would remain safe as long as people follow guidelinesand advisories issued from time to time.

   

“The government has brought around 40,000 stranded people ofJ&K from the Punjab and Himachal Pradesh,” he said after reviewingarrangements at the Udhampur railway station for the return of stranded J&Klabourers and students stuck in various parts of the country.

The Chief Secretary was accompanied by senior civilian andpolice officials.
