CRPF man among 8 die of COVID19

Eight deaths were attributed to COVID19 in J&K between Monday evening and Tuesday evening, the death toll here reaching 196. These included two people who had died earlier but were reported as COVID19 positive today.

A 60 year old man from Nadihal, Baramulla, admitted in SKIMS Soura on 5 July died in the wee hours of Tuesday. “The deceased had tested positive for coronavirus and was kept in isolation,” said MS SKIMS Dr Farooq Jan adding, “He had a history of hypertension, chronic kidney disease.”

   

Another 60 year old man admitted to the hospital on 13 July died within hours in the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday. The patient was from Tangmarg and was admitted in medical emergency, Dr Jan said, adding that the patient was sick and the sample was taken the same day. “His reports came positive this evening,” he said.

A 35 year old CRPF personnel, posted at Sheeri Baramulla, died today at SMHS Hospital. “He was admitted to the hospital on 13th July and died the same day,” said Dr Nazir Chaudhary, MS SMHS Hospital. “The patient had high BP, fever, diarrhoea, pneumonia and acute respiratory distress,” he said.

At SKIMS Bemina, a 65 year old man admitted on 10 July died today. The patient had pneumonia, MS of the hospital said. He was a resident of Imamsahib Sopian, Dr Shifa Deva, medical superintendent of the hospital said.

A 65 year old female patient died at Super Specialty Hospital here late last night. She belonged to Sopore area of Baramulla district. The patient was admitted for a heart ailment.

In addition, samples of two people, who had died in the past few days, were declared positive. These included a 65 year old woman from Gulshanabad Anantnag admitted at GMC Anantnag. Dr Majid Mehrab, medical superintendent of the hospital said she had breathlessness and remained admitted at the hospital for two days. The patient, as per health records, died on 11 July. Another female patient from Semthan Kulgam also died at GMC Anantnag. She was a known case of a cardiac ailment and died on 10 July, the MS said.

Today one death was reported from Jammu region. The deceased was a 47 year old man who died at GMC Jammu. He hailed from Talab Tilloo area.
