CRPF, police issue advisory

A day after Army issued advisory to its soldiers in the wake Coronavirus scare, the Central Reserve Police Force and the Jammu and Kashmir Police today issued advisory to their men asking them to take extraordinary precautions.

“We have issued advisory to our men in Kashmir as well asJammu,” CRPF Additional Director General Zulfikar Hassan told GreaterKashmir.

   

J & K Zone of CRPF is one of the largest Zones of CRPFconsisting 6 Sectors. One of the senior officers from CRPF said that even thepersonnel who report to duties after leave are undergoing rigorous medicalcheck at their respective locations.

A senior JK Police officer said that they have also issuedadvisory asking “our men to take precautions.”

He said that if any police personnel develop any symptomthey must inform their immediate superior.

The senior police officer said that though they are workingin tandem with CAPFs (CRPF, BSF, SSB and ITBP) in J&K, “advisory has goneto all security forces”.

“We have asked them to wash hands with soap frequently anduse tissues,” the officer said. The officer said they have also asked itspersonnel to stay at least a metre away from people who’re coughing or sneezingto avoid inhaling droplets.

On Friday Army asked its personnel to avoid allnon-essential mass gatherings including festivals, welfare activities andpublic gatherings. The Army sent out the advisory addressed to all its militarystations urging them to avoid large gatherings in view of the growing fear ofspread of Coronavirus.

According to the advisory the Service Hospitals have beenasked to set up isolation wards, and also have OPDs separately where thescreening of the suspected cases could be carried out.

These hospitals have to work in coordination with the localcivic authorities and the Indian Council of Medical Research laboratories. Ithas also advised its personnel to use the shopping facilities available withinthe cantonment or their stations instead of going to crowded shopping areas andto also avoid non-essential international travels. According to the Indian Armyregular counselling of the personnel, regular health checkups will be done whenthey all report in the morning.
