Govt allows partial restoration of Mughal Road

Authorities ordered ‘partial’ restoration of the Mughal Road while making permission from Divisional Commissioner office a prerequisite for inter-provincial movement.

Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Rahul Yadav told Greater Kashmir that authorities have decided to partially restore the road.

“We have ordered two-way movement of vehicles on the Mughal Road,” he said, adding that earlier there was permission for movement of fruit laden vehicles from Kashmir valley to Jammu side only.

He informed that goods laden vehicles can now move from both sides.

He, however, added that the “civil traffic shall be regulated” and permission for inter-provincial movement from Divisional Commissioner office will be a prerequisite.

The DC said that Rapid Antigen Testing shall be done at Bufliyaz and Heerpora on two sides of the road respectively.
