Hotels closed in Patnitop, section 144 imposed in Rajouri

In view of coronavirus threat, District Magistrate Udhampur Dr Piyush Singla has ordered closure of all hotels at the tourist spot Patnitop. The measure was taken after the suspected COVID-19 cases enlisted for observation swelled to 2478.

The DM imposed section 144 CrPC in the district and directedclosure of all the hotels falling within the jurisdiction of PatnitopDevelopment Authority (PDA) in Udhampur district till March 31. “The HotelManagement Authorities of Patnitop will ensure immediately compliance of theorder in letter and spirit,” the DC Udhampur has directed.

   

The order was issued after administration came to know aboutthe presence of “tourists visiting various hotels in Patnitop and staying therefor night halt”.

False message senders warned in doda

Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner, Doda, DrSagar D Doifode haswarned those people who are spreading “unchecked” and “false” messages on thesocial media, whatsapp.

“These false messages have spread panic among the people andmay lead to law and order problem,” the District Magistrate, Doda said in hisorder, while directing all the whatsapp groups to confirm reports from theauthorities.

“No whatsapp group administrator or any person is allowed toupload any false information or unconfirmed fabricated news or rumor withregard to confirmation of positive novel coronavirus in District Doda unless oruntil confirmation from District Administration or any higher authority (sic),”reads the order issued by the DM, Doda.

The violation by any whatsapp group administrator or anyperson will be responsible for action under Indian Penal Code (IPC) in caseuntoward incident or law and order problem occurs. The chemist shops weredirected not to over-charge on sanitizers and masks. “Otherwise, they will haveto face law”.

Section 144 imposed in Rajouri

In Rajouri district, the district administration has orderedto close all public institutions, markets including shopping malls, saloons,gyms, dabas, bandaras, langers, religious congregations, and other massgathering in the border district.

These measures were taken to contain the COVID-19.Meanwhile, Section 144 of CrPC has also been imposed in Rajouri.

NO learning test: TRANSPORT COMMISSIONER

“No learning test for the driving licenses will be conductedtill March 31. All the public transport operating in their territorialjurisdiction will be sanitized,” Transport Commissioner, Jammu and Kashmir,Pardeep Kumar, issued directions to all the Regional Transport Officers (RTOs)and Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTOs).  It was directed to ensure sanitization ofdrivers, and cleaners.
