Kashmiri woman succumbs to Covid19 in Dubai

A 34-year-old Kashmiri woman succumbed to Covid19 at a Dubai hospital on Friday afternoon, taking the number of Kashmiris outside the Valley succumbing to the deadly virus to two. On Thursday, father of a Kashmiri dentist had passed away due to the pandemic in UK.

Family members of the deceased woman confirmed to the GreaterKashmir from Dubai about the death. “She was diagnosed Corona positive on March31. We are devastated by this news and urge everyone back home in Kashmir topray for the departed soul,” Junaid Bashir Lone, a cousin of the deceasedinformed the Greater Kashmir from Dubai.

   

The deceased hails from Nawab Bazar in downtown Srinagar.The woman has left behind family of four, including husband and threedaughters. While one of the daughters is 1 year old, the other two daughtersare aged 2 years and 6 years. The deceased was the daughter of late FarooqLone, who was a producer at Educational Multimedia Research Centre (EMMRC),University of Kashmir. She was the wife of a Dubai-based Kashmiri businessman,Majid Rafiq Shah. The deceased had pursued a masters degree in computersciences.

Meanwhile, family members of the deceased in Srinagar haveurged people to pray for the departed soul from their homes and avoid visitingthe residence in view of the prevailing situation owing to Covid19.
