Lt Gen Rajiv Ghai visits frontline artillery positions amid summer infiltration threats

Srinagar, Apr 1:  The Commander of the Chinar Corps on Monday visited artillery units along the Line of Control (LoC) to assess their operational preparedness in light of the upcoming summer months and the persistent threat of infiltration by terrorists.

During his visit, the Corps Commander reviewed the units’ operational readiness and commended the innovative use of modern technology in enhancing their capabilities. He urged the gunners to maintain a high state of morale and readiness to effectively respond to any forthcoming challenges.

The visit comes at a crucial time as security forces remain vigilant against attempts by terrorists to infiltrate into Kashmir, particularly during the summer months when the snow begins to melt in the higher reaches, making it easier for infiltration.

The Chinar Corps, responsible for operations in Kashmir, has been actively engaged in counter-terrorism operations to thwart the nefarious designs of terrorist elements.

The visit of the Corps Commander underscores the Army’s commitment to ensuring peace and security in the region.

The Northern Command of the Indian Army, under which the Chinar Corps operates, has been actively monitoring the situation along the LoC and the International Border to prevent any infiltration attempts by terrorists from across the border.

The Army has also intensified its intelligence-based operations to target terrorist networks and their support structures, in coordination with other security agencies.

The visit of the Chinar Corps Commander highlights the Army’s preparedness and determination to thwart any attempts to disrupt peace in the region and reaffirms its commitment to the safety and security of the people of J&K.
