Srinagar, Apr 17: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) President Mehbooba Mufti and National Conference (NC) senior leader Main Altaf will file nomination papers for the Anantnag-Rajouri Lok Sabha seat on Thursday.
A local news gathering agency Kashmir News Observer (KNO) reported that Mehbooba would file her nomination papers at around 11 am after visiting her father and former chief minister Mufti Muhammad Sayeed’s graveyard in Bijbehara area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
NC’s candidate from Anantnag-Rajouri and senior leader Mian Altaf will also submit his nomination papers on Thursday.
According to reports, he would be accompanied by NC Vice President and former chief minister Omar Abdullah and other senior NC leaders.
BJP is yet to announce its candidate, while DPAP, which had earlier announced its chairman Ghulam Nabi Azad as the candidate, has now fielded Muhammad Saleem Party as the party candidate for the Anantnag-Rajouri seat.
