NEET UG exam postponed

The National Testing Agency has postponed the NEET (UG) 2020 examination which was scheduled to be held on May 3.

Director General NTA, Vineet Joshi, said the decision hasbeen taken in view of the COVID19 epidemic.

   

“The admit cards which were to be issued on March 27 willnow be issued later after assessing the situation after April 15,” Vineet Joshitold Greater Kashmir from New Delhi.

“As of now the examination is proposed to be held in thelast week on May 2020. Exact date will be announced later after assessing thesituation,” Joshi said.

He further asked the parents to help young students utilize thetime for preparing for the examination and focus on critical concepts in orderto close the learning gaps.

“NTA would keep students updated about the latestdevelopments and would inform about changes with ample time,” DG NTA said.

This year, a total of 15,93,452 candidates have applied forthe NEET entrance exam. Out of these, around 33,357 candidates are from Jammuand Kashmir.

“The candidates and their parents are advised to keepvisiting ntaneet.nic.in and www.nta.ac.in for latest updates,” Joshi said.

He said the candidates are also being informed individuallythrough their registered mobile number/ email-id.
