Unidentified persons snatched a 12-bore rifle from a bank guard in Dadsara area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district Saturday morning.
A police official said that three unidentified persons snatched the rifle from the guard Showkat Ahmad Hajam of Saimoo Tral at J&K Bank branch Dadsara Tral at around 11 am.
The incident created panic in the bank, witnesses said.
Soon after the incident, police rushed to the spot and took stock of the situation. The area was cordoned off and search operation launched in the nearby area to nab the persons.
In the meantime, CCTV footage was taken to identify the persons involved in the incident.
“They were three persons. Two wearing Covid 19 facemasks entered (the bank) and the third who is not in the footage waited outside,” SP Awantipora Tahir Saleem said.
A case under FIR number 128/2020 was registered.
