Veeri, Tarigami, Er Rasheed, others visit martyrs graveyard

Leaders from various political parties paid glowing tributes to the martyrs of 13 July 1931 on Saturday.

Talking to reporters after offering fateh-a-prayers and laying floral wreaths on the graves of martyrs of  13 July 1931,  senior PDP leader Abdur RehmanVeeri said that this day should be remembered by the generations to come so that they come to know that why these martyrs sacrificed their lives.

   

“The coming generations should remember these martyrs and webelieve more steps should be taken at the state level so that the contributionsof these martyrs is highlighted in a better way,” Veeri said.

He reiterated party’s agenda for the resolution of Kashmirissue stating that PDP believes in reconciliation and dialogue.

Talking to reporters, CPI (M) state secretary M Y Tarigamisaid, ” I have come here to renew the pledge to remember the martyrdom ofmartyrs who laid their lives to shape our future for better.”

“These martyrs had presented an agenda before the people ofJammu and Kashmir and that agenda is not against anybody but against theautocracy, dictatorship, and to strengthen the democracy and to protect theJ&K’s special identity,” he said.

Tarigami said that J&K is going through a very sensitivephase and no effort aimed at dividing the State will be allowed. “Today, we arehere to take forward the martyr’s message with utmost respect and honour,” hesaid.

AwamiItehad Party chief Er Rasheed also paid  floral tributes to 13 July 1931 martyrs.

He said the mission of these martyrs is incomplete andpeople of Kashmir are waiting for the day when the place will see real peaceand prosperity.

A delegation of Peoples Conference also visited martyrsgraveyard

In a statement here a PC spokesman said that the PCdelegation visited Mazar-e-Shohada at Naqashband Sahib (RA) in old city here, aPC spokesman said.

The delegation offered fateh and tributes to the martyrs whoimmortalised their courageous fight by rendering the ultimate sacrifice oftheir lives.

Meanwhile, PC general secretary Imran Reza Ansari whilepaying homage to the martyrs said that the 13 July 1931 martyrs fought forprotecting their dignity and honor of Kashmiris.

Other PC leaders also paid tributes to the martyrs.
