Residents demand macadamisation of road at Gulberg Colony, Lane-4, Hyderpora
We, the residents of Gulberg Colony, Sector-3, Lane-4, Hyderpora are facing a lot of hardships due to the dilapidated road. For the past many years, the road leading to the mohalla has not been macadamised. We face much inconvenience as there are large potholes. The road’s elevated level is preventing residents from persuading the administration to macadamise it.
We, therefore, request the concerned authority to look into the matter and macadamise our road as soon as possible while ensuring close monitoring of its elevation.

Bijbehara-Khanabal Road in shambles
We, the residents of Wahidan Tehsil, Sallar Pahalgam, would like to draw the attention of the concerned authorities to the terrible condition of the three km road, connecting two vital routes, Bijbehara -Pahalgam Road and Khanabal- Pahalgam Road. The road is severely dilapidated, with large potholes causing significant delays in travel time. Despite being black-topped in 2017, it has received no upgrades since then. Given the constant influx of vehicles from various parts of Kashmir to Pahalgam, we request the R&B Division, Anantnag to address this issue promptly.

Residents demand bus service from Jehangir Chowk to Raiyar, Doodhpathri
This is to bring to the notice of the administration that there is a need for SRTC bus services from Jehangir Chowk, Srinagar to Raiyar, Doodhpathri via Khansahib Budgam. Village Raiyar is about 35 Kms away from Srinagar and 26 from Budgam Town, located near the famous tourist spot Doodhpathri. We do not have a direct bus service from Raiyar to Srinagar. Students, employees, labourers and other daily passengers face a lot of inconvenience.
We had earlier approached Divisional Commissioner’s office and he had forwarded a letter to MD, SRTC. However, they have not taken any action as of now. The requested bus service can be a big help to this neglected area.

AP Botany appointments in J&K’s HED delayed
The AP Botany selection list was announced on October 17 by JKPSC via notification no. 74-PSC (DR-S) dated 17-10-2023. However, for the past eight months, our recommendation letter has yet to be forwarded to HED by JKPSC due to delay in disposal of representation, absence of PSC Chairman for four months, and the resolution of a settled writ petition [as per HED order no-50 in January 2024]. Despite our frequent visits to the concerned offices in PSC &HED to expedite the process, our pleas seem to have fallen on deaf ears.
JKPSC recently sent an official letter to Special Secretary HED regarding the same issue.
Whenever one of the selected candidates in Botany approaches JKPSC, the response is consistently, “We have sent a letter to HED& sought their opinion” & will make a decision after receiving a reply from HED”.
Therefore, we, the aggrieved candidates, appeal to the Commissioner Secretary (Shri. Alok Kumar-IAS) and Advisor to LG on Higher Education (Shri Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar) to resolve this case on priority basis with a compassionate approach to prevent any further delay.
We anticipate a prompt decision so that we can join the HED after the M.C.C ends. Most of us are currently unemployed, and our families are suffering due to this unnecessary complicated quagmire. Additionally, PSC awaits the appointment of honorable members by the J&K Government to conclude many pending selection lists, including Botany.

Delay in conducting Interviews for Assistant Professor posts by JKPSC
The candidates shortlisted for Assistant Professor positions in various subjects in the Higher Education Department and Health/Medical Education departments are writing to express their concerns regarding the delay in interview processes.
The recruitment notifications for these positions in HED were issued in May 2023. While recruitment has been completed in several subjects, delays have occurred in others due to the absence of the Honourable Chairperson of the JK PSC. Additionally, in some subjects such as Mathematics and Physics, exams had to be conducted twice due to faulty question papers which led to further delays in these subjects.
With the appointment of a new chairman, candidates were hopeful for interview calls. However, due to a shortage of members in the JK Public Service Commission, the process has been stalled. This prolonged delay has caused distress among candidates eagerly awaiting progress in the recruitment process.
We kindly appeal to the LG administration to address this issue promptly and initiate the recruitment process without any further delays.

Amar Singh College students demand redressal of academic grievances
We, the students of Amar Singh College from the Batch of 2021, have recently received the results for the 3rd Semester (Batch 2021 & previous Backlogs). However, several students have noticed that the results for the Statistics subject in the 3rd Semester Regular Examination are the same as the previous exam. Despite performing well in the backlog examination for Statistics, our marks for the conducted examination have not been updated in the declared result. We are confident that we have scored higher than the passing marks.
Despite sending numerous emails to the authorities, we are still awaiting an update on this issue. We, therefore, request the higher authorities at Cluster University, Srinagar to look into the matter.

Surasyar residents demand immediate action on dilapidated roads
For years, the road from Surasyar to Chadoora has deteriorated due to incessant excavation for laying water pipes underneath. Thousands of people use this road daily from more than 20 villages to commute, go to work, colleges, schools, and other aspects of life. But the road has been excavated so frequently that it is barely recognisable as a proper road. It has transformed into a muddy path reminiscent of ancient times, filled with numerous pits and potholes. It is in a highly dilapidatedcondition. People are left with no choice but to travel on this road, impacting their health, causing joint problems, wasting their time, and damaging vehicles.
We appeal concerned authorities to look into the matter.
