Stop labelling people as BJP associates: Sajad Lone to Omar Abdullah

Kupwara, Apr 17: Peoples Conference (PC) President Sajad Gani Lone Wednesday asked National Conference (NC) Vice President Omar Abdullah to stop labelling people as being associated with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and being agents of New Delhi.

Talking to reporters on the sidelines of a party function at his Handwara residence, Lone reiterated that Kashmiris should be treated with the same dignity and honour as other citizens.

Criticising Omar, Lone said that he should stop labelling people for being associated with BJP and agencies.

“Gone are the days when people were being jailed and slapped with PSA on false charges. We live in a democracy. He has a habit of humiliating everyone,” Lone said.
“What does Omar Abdullah mean when he says that he is not fighting Sajad and that he is fighting Delhi,” he said.
Referring to a recent interview of Omar Abdullah where he used the terms “good BJP” and “bad BJP”, Lone said, “The one with which he is comfortable is good BJP, while another one is bad. I want to remind him that it was late Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ji who rejected the autonomy resolution passed by NC and categorically said that BJP will abrogate Article 370 whenever it comes into power with full strength.”

The NC vice president in an interview recently said that even today he would have loved to work with Vajpayee if he was heading the country.
PC President described Omar Abdullah as a tourist who is contesting elections from north Kashmir.
“The people of north Kashmir must contemplate sending me to Parliament because NC MPs have never represented people the way they should have,” he said.
Lone said that the gun had brought destruction to J&K.

“The people of J&K want to live in peace because guns brought only destruction and left behind an army of orphans and widows in a helpless situation,” he said. “We want to be equal Indians and cherish the same dignity that other citizens have in other parts of the country. If I am elected, I will certainly fight for the dignity and development of Kashmiris in New Delhi.”

Talking about verification of youth being carried out by different security agencies, Lone said, “Our youth in the name of Police verification are feeling isolated because nowhere in rest of the country youth have to go through verification process. What is the fault of a person whose relative was associated with terrorism in the past, why can’t he get favourable a Police verification report so that he can live a dignified and desired life? New Delhi must think about it and if I am elected, I will certainly work for it.”
