ACB registers disproportionate assets case against ex-SE PMGSY Circle Baramulla

Srinagar, Mar 14: The Anti-Corruption Bureau Thursday registered an FIR into the allegations of acquisition of Disproportionate Assets accumulated by a former Superintendent Engineer PMGSY Circle Baramulla.

A statement of ACB issued here said that the case was registered against now-retired Muhammad Ayub Wani, son of Abdul Ahad Wani of Railway Colony, Nihama, Pulwama.

   

It said that the suspect had huge assets both immovable and movable and purchased gold ornaments worth lakhs of rupees.

The statement said that assets were found disproportionate to his known source of income during the verification.

It said that the omissions and commissions on the part of Wani constitute offences punishable under Section 5(1)(e) read with 5(2) J&K PC Act Svt 2006.

The statement said that a case FIR No 05/2024 was registered at Police Station ACB Srinagar and further investigation was started.

It said that after obtaining a search warrant from the court, searches were carried out at three separate locations – the residential house at Afandi Bagh, Rawalpora Srinagar; residential house at Railway Colony, Nihama, Pulwama and Flat in Ansal Tower at Sainik Colony, Jammu.
