Directorate of Health Services, Kashmir(DHSK) on Tuesday said that Directorate has been organisisng blood donation camps across the Valley on routine basis in peripheral hospitals.
In a statement here a spokesman of the Health department said that five blood donation camps were conducted in the past three days.
The blood donation camps were organised at district hospital Anantnag (Islamabad), sub district hospital Sopore, sub district hospital Chadoora, district hospital Baramulla and district hospital Handwara, he said.
The spokesman said that a total of 250 blood pints have been collected so far.
"Moreover volunteers are donating blood at various peripheral hospitals on routine basis. Staff of Directorate of Health Services, Kashmir are also participating in these camps," he added.
The Director Health Services Kashmir Dr Saleem ur Rehman, the spokesman said, has directed concerned hospital administrators to lessen the burden of trauma patients. "The blood pints should be sent to tertiary care hospitals so that patients are benefited who are in dire need," the Director said.
