Despite announcement of converting old hospital complex in Doda into a Mother Care/ Maternity hospital four years back, the hospital is yet to be completed.
No major progress has been made to complete the maternity hospital except some repair work of the building, sources said.
Sources told Greater Kashmir that with the inauguration of New Hospital Complex in Doda four years ago by the then Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, it was declared that the Old Hospital Complex building will be converted into a Mother Care/ Maternity Hospital.
The announcement to convert the Old Hospital Complex building into maternity hospital was welcomed by the people of the region where the health scenario was already in poor state.
Doda Welfare Society President Mohammad Iqbal, while talking with the media persons, said even after four years of the announcement, there has been absolutely no progress except some initial repair of building by JKPCC Doda.
Sources said that going by the pace of work, it is unlikely that the maternity hospital will be completed in coming year or two.
