Ahmed and Haris Khan Charitable Trust holds medical camp
Ahmed and Haris Khan Charitable Trust organised a medical camp at Khiram Sirhama in Anantnag district on Sunday, a spokesman of the Trust said in a statement.
He said the patients from Khiram, Sirhama and Srigufwara were examined in a special ambulance equipped with diagnostic machines.
"Endoscopy was conducted on 16 patients. Out of them, two were found to be suffering with malignancy and they were referred to SKIMS Soura for further treatment," said Mehmooda Jan chairperson of the trust adding ECG was conducted on 50 patients. She said out of 60 patients, four were found to be diabetic.
"The medical camp is an endeavour of our trust to reach out to far-flung areas of Kashmir and screen patients. We plan to equip the special ambulance with mobile ultrasound facilities soon," said Muhammad Yousuf Khan, a trustee.
Elaborating on the activities of the trust, Khan said "we have Fatima Craft Centre wherein training is imparted to downtrodden girls in different crafts. The focus is basically to provide employment and education to girls," Khan said.
He said the trust imparts computer training and organises T-20 tournaments. "Every year, 100 children are provided free tuition. We also sponsor over 100 children for higher education," Khan added.
