Indian Council of Medical Research is setting up Biomedical Informatics Satellite Center (BISC) at Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS).
The Centre will have nodal centers in every state medical college.
The objectives of the center will be to develop new methodologies and solutions for prevention and amelioration of diseases of national importance; develop and support databases of specific clinical findings and biomedical data; promote modern biology research in host institute and regional medical colleges and increase awareness of recent developments in modern biology through workshops and training programs.
Government medical college Srinagar has consented to associate with the center.
