Authorities at Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) on Saturday appointed Dr Farooq Ahmad Jan as medical superintendent at the institute.
"Consequent upon the superannuation of Dr Syed Amin Tabish, Medical Superintendent and HOD hospital administration on 31 March 2017, it is hereby ordered that DR Farooq Ahmad Jan, additional professor cum joint medical superintendent shall function as medical superintendent and shall be responsible for overall functioning of the hospital and matters relating to the service departments till further orders," said an order issued by director SKIMS, Prof Omar Javed Shah.
Dr Jan, who has previously worked MS SKIMS for two years, has number of publications to his credit and has authored a book on Step by Step Quality Hospital care.
