The lone Echo machine at SMHS Hospital here has developed a snag, rendering it defunct causing inconvenience to hundreds of patients here.
The life saving cardiac Echo machine at SMHS Hospital is out of order for the past two weeks. As a result, patients, who have taken appointments months before, or those who require an emergency echo, have to undergo hassles.
A delegation of patients from Qazigund told Greater Kashmir that they had been dated for an echo two months ago, but were returned from the hospital due to the technical snag.
A doctor at SMHS Hospital said that the machine developed a snag two weeks ago. “There are issues with image quality, although, for emergency cases, we do use it,” he said. Medical superintendent SMHS Hospital, Dr Saleem Tak said that the company concerned has been intimated about the issue and the problem would be sorted out soon. “We are on it. We have requested the company with which we have the annual maintenance contract and they will be here within a week,” he said
