Workshop on pediatric life support held

Srinagar: The Department of Pediatrics, Government Medical College Srinagar in collaboration with Indian Academy of Pediatrics Delhi conducted a one-day workshop on pediatric basic life support at GB Pant hospital Srinagar on Sunday.

The workshop, which was attended by consultants, registrars, postgraduate students from GB Pant hospital, LD neonatology unit and SKIMS Bemina, in addition, doctors from the directorate of health Services Kashmir was lauded as informative and educative. It covered an introduction to Cardio-pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), guidelines on life support, the use of Automated External Defibrillators and other important techniques and technologies.

   

Principal Dean GMC Srinagar Prof Samia Rashid inaugurated the workshop and termed it essential for every healthcare provider. Dr Lallit Menderetta, President IAP Delhi and Dr Manish Gupta Secretary IAP Delhi, in addition to six more faculty members from IAP conducted the workshop.

Dr Muzaffar Jan, Professor and Head Pediatrics welcomed the guest faculty while Prof Khurshid Wani and Dr Mubashir Shah gave vote of thanks.
