Group Captain Varun Singh injured in Tamil Nadu chopper crash succumbs

Srinagar Dec 15: Group Captain of the Indian Air Force, Varun Singh,, who received serious burn injuries in the December 8 Army chopper crash in which CDS General Bipin Rawat and 12 others were killed, succumbed on Wednesday.

   

“IAF is deeply saddened to inform the passing away of braveheart Group Captain Varun Singh, who succumbed this morning to the injuries sustained in the helicopter accident on 08 Dec 21. IAF offers sincere condolences and stands firmly with the bereaved family, ” IAF said in a tweet this afternoon.

CDS Bipin Rawat, his wife Madhulika Rawat and 11 other personnel including top Army officials had died in the chopper crash near Coonoor Tamil Nadu on December 8 morning.

On Tuesday, news agency ANI had reported that Group Captain Varun Singh’s medical condition continued to be critical but stable. He was on life support system in Bengaluru Command Hospital.
