Pulwama, May 7: Former Chief Minister and PDP president Mehbooba Mufti on Tuesday accused the administration of barring her from visiting several areas during her poll campaign for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

“I say it with regret that the administration did not allow us to visit Naristan, Nagabal and other areas. I do not know why I was not allowed to visit these area”, Mehbooba told reporters during a road show in Tral area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

She said that the people of the area had always stood by PDP. “They understand that PDP helped people in their most difficult times. It (PDP) is the only party that liberated people from oppression of Ikhwan, army and militants”, she said.

Underlining the contribution of PDP to the development of the area, the PDP chief said, “Mufti ( Mohammad Sayeed) sahab during his brief three-year term as the Chief Minister built roads, universities and introduced Rehbar-e- Taleem like schemes”.

Seeking votes for party leader and Lok Sabha candidate for Srinagar parliamentary seat Waheed- ur- Rehman Parra, Mehbooba said that he was incarcerated because of his efforts of securing the release of detained youth.

“And for this he was unjustly labeled as a militant sympathiser”, she said.

Mehbooba said that Kashmir had been turned into a jail and people were not allowed to speak up. She appealed to the electorate to cast their votes in favour of Parra.
