A young man got killed while another one sustained injuries when a tractor met with an accident at Behrooti village of Balakote near Line of Control in Mendhar of Poonch district.
Police said that the accident took place when a tractor loaded with TMT Saria plunged into roadside fields. The tractor driver and another person came under the rear wheels of the vehicle.
“Locals rushed to the spot soon after receiving information of the accident and took out both the victims, stuck under the vehicle. They were shifted to nearby hospital,” police officials said.
They added that the tractor driver Shoaib Ahmed, son of Mohammad Azam, resident of Potha Surankote was declared as brought dead while other person Mohammad Murtaza, son of Faiz Mohammad, resident of Panjni was critically injured. He was referred to Rajouri hospital from Mendhar.
Police said to have registered a case under relevant sections of law in Balakote police post of Mendhar police station.
