2 arrested, stolen items recovered: Police

Jammu and Kashmir police on Sunday claimed to have arrested two persons and recovered stolen items worth over Rs 2 lakhs.

In a press conference held at Surankote, deputy superintendent of police, Surankote, Reyaz Ahmed alongwith station house officer, Surankote, Javaid Malik, said that three days ago, a written complaint was received, wherein a man from Lassana stated that unidentified thieves stole some items from his hardware shop.

   

An FIR was registered and during investigation, two suspects were detained, the DySP said, adding that the duo confessed to their involvement in the crime.

The accused, identified as Mohammad Ishaq and and Ameen Ahmad, also informed about the place where they had hidden the stolen items, he said, adding that many stolen goods were recovered.

The recovered items included water geysers, electric motors and tile boxes, the DySP said.
