Two boys aged between 20-25 years were crushed to death by an unknown vehicle at Chack Ghota village on Jammu-Pathankot highway in Kathua district, police said.
SHO Lakahnpur, Sushil Sharma told Greater Kashmir, “The incident happened on the intervening night of July 15-16, but police were informed early morning on Monday. It seems to be a case of hit-and-run.”
The police, he said, have registered a case under section 304 A RPC against the unidentified people, while the bodies of the deceased have been sent to the mortuary of the district hospital for conducting the autopsy and identification.
The police officer said that from preliminary investigation, the deceased appear to be non-state residents. Lakhanpur police have taken up investigation into the matter.
