To celebrate the International Women's Day, the Centre for Women's Studies, University of Jammu, in collaboration with the office of the Chairman, NSS Campus Units, University of Jammu, organised poster making and slogan writing competitions at General Zorawar Singh Auditorium.
Prof Jasbir SIngh, Chairman, NSS Campus Units, in his welcome address welcomed the participants and the chief guest and thereafter highlighted the significance of such events which are being organised to commemorate the International Women's Day.
Dr Sanjay Sharma, Administrator, General Zorawar Singh Auditorium, University of Jammu, was the chief guest for the event. The theme of the slogan writing competition was" role of Women in Contemporary India" and the theme of the theme of the poster making was "Women in Contemporary India".
The coordinator, NSS Campus, Dr. Visvaraksha along with the programme officers, Dr. Hema Gandotra and Dr. Seema Rohmetra and Volunteers, Shiv Dutt Sharma, Sumit Kumar Dogra, Navjot Bakshi, Kamalpreet Singh, Charanpaul Singh were also present.
Around sixty five students participated in both the events which were adjudicated by Prof Neeru Sharma, Dr.Anupama Vohra and Dr Sanjayt Sharma.
The first Prize in slogan writing was bagged by Babli Devi of Bhartiya College of Education, while second prize went to Lovleen Kour of JK College of Education. The third prize was given to Sheetal Gandhia of RK College of Education.
In poster making competition, first prize went to Manisha Sharma of Bhartiya College of Education, the second prize was given to Poonam Jamwal of KC Gurukul College, while the third prize went to Sumeshwar Singh of Trikuta Degree College.
