Rajouri, Dec 9: The Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Thursday said that the government was contemplating to open more inter-provincial roads, on the pattern of Mughal Road, for faster economic development of the state.
 "The government intends to open many more inter-district and inter-provincial roads to link the two regions, Kashmir and Jammu, and help faster economic development and generation of economic activities", Omar said while addressing a public meeting after inaugurating district hospital complex here.
 "By opening of Mughal Road, the avenues to generate wide ranging economic activities have received a considerable fillip", he said adding, "I am told that Shopian apple sold for Rs 50 to Rs 70 in Rajouri last year was sold from Rs 20 to Rs 30 a kg, this year due to plying of fruit trucks from Shopian to Rajouri via Mughal Road".
 However, he asked people to remain aware of the conspiracies certain quarters were hatching to destabilize the communal harmony and peaceful atmosphere.
 The Chief Minister said that the next 4-years of the coalition government would concentrate on putting development process on fast track ensuring equitable development of all areas to realize the goal of prosperous Jammu and Kashmir. He said peace and tranquility was imperative to achieve this target.
 He further reiterated his government's determination to upgrade and expand health service facilities across the State.
 The Chief Minister said that his government has flagged health and education sectors on the top of the development agenda and measures were on to universalize the two sectors in the State.
 "While steps are being taken to upgrade health facility in the cities and towns, various measures have been initiated to strengthen the medical service at district and village levels", he said adding that the establishment of modern district hospitals would go in a big way to provide specialized medical treatment to the people at district level.
 The Chief Minister announced CT Scan unit and Critical Ambulance for the hospital to be provided by the end of this fiscal.
