VC interacts with Fencers, lauds JU team for excelling in All India Championship

The Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu, Prof. R.D. Sharma today interacted with the Fencers of Jammu University team who scored over all 3rd Position in Epee at All India Inter University Fencing (M&W) Championship 2014-15 at Punjabi University Patiala (Punjab).

The Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu,  Prof. R.D. Sharma today interacted with the Fencers of Jammu University team who scored over all 3rd Position in Epee at  All India Inter University Fencing (M&W) Championship 2014-15 at Punjabi University Patiala   (Punjab).

 A total of 69 universities of the country participated in the event. The Vice-Chancellor lauded the role of the Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, the coach of the team, Rashid Choudhary and efforts of the players who have managed to stand 3rd in  all India competition. 

The Vice Chancellor appreciated the players for maintaining  their 1st  position at All India level  for consecutive three years in  the past. He also appreciated the support provided by the Directorate of Sports and Physical Education and expected the Department to put all best possible efforts to regain the position which they constantly maintained in the past.

The Epee Team (Men) of Jammu University comprising of Veer Sangram Singh, Pankaj Sharma, Abhinav Pandotra and Mohit Sharma won Bronze Medal in the championship, whereas Javed Ahmed Choudhary Won Bronze Medal in Sibre individual (Men) event. Among others, Prof. Dhian S. Bhau, Director, Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu, P.D. Singh (Game Incharge), Rashid Ahmed Choudhary (Coach), Bhisham Singh (Team Manager) and Akhilesh Sharma were also present on the occasion.
