The AIIMS coordination committee (ACC) that has been spearheading the agitation of setting up of the premier health institution in Jammu today held a 'Lalkaar rally' in which a large number of people from different walks of life participated.
The activists of ACC also held a protest outside the office of the state unit of BJP as they accused the saffron party of betraying the people of Jammu over the issue of AIIMS. Heavy police deployment was made outside the BJP office which stopped the ACC activists from entering the party office.
"The Lalkaar rally started from near the statue of Maharaja Hari Singh and it went through various parts of the city. The aim of the rally was to inform the people of Jammu about the betrayal of the BJP and to get support from them for the upcoming 72 hours of Jammu bandh that starts from July 31," a spokesman of ACC said. While congratulating the people of Jammu for making the Lalkaar rally a success, Chairman of ACC Abhinav Sharma said that he has no doubt that the committee will soon achieve a full-fledged AIIMS for Jammu.
