To express their anguish and desperation over callous attitude of state and central government for not fulfilling their demands, PAK Displaced Persons (DPs) today held a strong protest demonstration in the city.

The PAK Displaced Persons (DPs) under the banner of SOS International-An organisation for PAK Displaced Persons, assembled at Rehari Colony and staged a strong protest demonstration against state and central government.

Later, the protesters, led by SOS International Chairman, Rajiv Chuni, JS Mangal, Lalit Kumar, Roshan Lal, Virinder Khajuria, HL Sabharwal, NS Gupta, Roshan Malhotra, Sanjay Kohli, Subash Suri, Abhimanyu, Bhai Ram Singh and others, took out a rally.

While addressing the protesters, Chuni criticized the policies of union and state governments over the delay in resolution of package which was forwarded by state government to central government after constant efforts of S. O. S.

Chuni warned the government of grave consequences for its callous attitude against DPs, adding that S. O. S. International will take the struggle to the roads as this government has totally become dumb and deaf.

He said that our elected representatives whether they are in Parliament or in State Assembly have never spoken/raised issues of DPs.

"Patience of DPs is running out and they are in no mood to tolerate any further delay in implementing the package", he said and warned that DPs will begin nationwide agitation against the hostile behavior of government.

"We are living in a democratic system and after making scores of sacrifices, we are being treated as untouchables as no successive government has shown its interest to provide remedy for our wounds", Chuni said.

In democracy, every individual enjoys equal right but it seems myth when it turns to DPs, he added.

Is it called democracy where people have to fight to get their basic rights?" he asked. Are we really living in democracy where Government doesn't listen to demands of its own people? He further asked.

He stated that S. O. S. International has established its units in whole Jammu region and various parts of the country to make further strategy to launch nationwide agitation.

All the units at various locations are working day and night to unite all PAK DPs for an agitation, he said.

Chuni further appealed to the government to shun its deceptive tactics and solve the issue in a human way.
