The activists of National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) today held a rally here at Shastri Nagar, Jammu, to impress upon the government to release 6% D.A. dues in favour of state government employees and pensioners.
While addressing the activists, President of NMC, Subash Shastri urged upon the Chief Minister, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed to intervene personally in releasing 6% D.A. dues from July last in favour of state government employees and pensioners at the next meeting of state cabinet.
He said that another installment of 7% D.A. has also become due to both central and state governments employees and pensioner and has added to the burden of arrears on state exchequer.
He said that the prices of all essential commodities have gone up considerably, and as such, the release of pending installment of 6% D.A. has become more necessary.
More so, when almost all state governments of the country except Jammu and Kashmir had already released this installment to their employees and pensioners since long, the J&K Government should also release the same.
Other demands highlighted included pension benefits to the employees of PSUs, regularizing the service motivators working in watershed project at Akhnoor, besides releasing their salaries, release of all pending dues of daily rated workers working in PWD, Irrigation and flood control PDD, PHE and other departments of the state government well before ensuing festivals, issuance of regularization orders of 180 daily wagers of RDD and enhancement of wages of daily wagers from Rs. 4,500 to Rs. 10,000 per month, beside enhancing medical allowances to Rs. 1000 per month, including Jammu City in the list of hundred smart cities, creation of separate wage head in each department of the state government.
