Amid protests by main opposition Congress Party and Civil Secretariat Non-Gazzetted Employees Union (CS N-GEU), move offices opened in the winter capital here today.

Soon after the Chief Minister Mufti Muhammad Sayeed received guard of honour by a contingent of Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP), the Civil Secretariat Non-Gazzetted Employees, holding placards, amid slogans lodged a noisy protest. They were demanding removal of Director Estates. Led by G N Rasool, President CS N-GEU, they alleged total mismanagement in the allotment of accommodations to the move employees.

The agitating employees were demanding scrutiny of all the orders issued during incumbent Director's  tenure, restoration of accommodation quota of secretariat employees and to keep in abeyance all the orders with regard to allotment of government accommodation.

Meanwhile, Congress activists held a massive rally to lodge their protest against the PDP-BJP government.

Earlier  battery of party leaders including former Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand, former ministers and Senior Vice-Presidents, Raman Bhalla and  Sham Lal Sharma   assembled at Hari Singh Park and marched towards civil secretariat Jammu. The Congress march to gehrao the Civil Secretariat was however foiled by police near Bus Stand Jammu who were deployed in huge numbers.
