Chief Minister's Advisor Prof Amitabh Matoo on Sunday said the BJP-PDP coalition government is committed to resolve the issues that are being faced by the displaced Kashmiri Pandit community including their early and dignified rehabilitation.
Mattoo visited the Kashmiri Pandit Migrant Camp (Jagti Township) and took stock of problems being faced by residents.
He said that the coalition government under the leadership of Chief Minister, Mufti Muhammad Sayeed is committed to resolve all issues that impinge on the day-to-day living of the residents, and ensuring their early and dignified rehabilitation.
Mattoo stressed upon the migrant community to be united for early redress of their genuine problems. The Advisor to the Chief Minister said the Kashmiri Pandits are an intrinsic part of the valley and necessary mechanism has already been put in place to ensure that they are rehabilitated in a proper and dignified manner. "There is no greater visionary than the present Chief Minister Mufti Muhammad Sayeed in this regard and the Prime Minister has also announced a comprehensive package encompassing their relief and rehabilitation", he said.
Prof Mattoo said that Kashmiri Muslims are waiting for Pandits to return and we have to revive those bonds of brotherhood and mutual respect. Pertinently, Mattoo family did not migrate from Kashmir.
