Scores of Kashmiri Pandits from different walks of life joined Bharatiya Janta Party in presence of party General Secretary organistion Ashok Koul, state BJP president Sat Sharma and MLC Surinder Ambardar and resolved to work for the betterment of the displaced community, a BJP spokesman said.
Prominent among those who joined the political party today included Chand ji Bhat retired bank manager, Prof M.K Raina, Advocate Ram K Koul, Ashok Patwari former Chief Education Officer, Sharda Nandan retired SE, Kuldeep Raina former private secretary to DGP, Raja ji Tickoo, Ravinder Razdan and women social worker Shoki Sopori with dozens of their follower, he added.
While speaking on the occasion senior BJP leader Ashok Koul welcomed the new entrants into the party fold and reiterated that BJP is committed to mitigate the sufferings of the displaced Kashmiri Pandit community.
State president of BJP Sat Sharma while welcoming the members said that BJP has always stood by displaced community since its exodus and continues to do so.
The BJP MLC Surinder Ambardar while welcoming the new members said that BJP is committed to mitigate the sufferings of the displaced community as the organization is aware of the aspirations of the community which included political and religious empowerment.
