Gujjar Welfare Committee, Vijaypur, today held a protest demonstration demanding resettlement of 500 Gujjar families, who are at present living at Rakh Brotian near the border.
The protesters demanded from the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to intervene in the matter and resolve the issue.
The protest was led by Gujjar Welfare Committee, Vijaypur, Chairman, Mohd Ayub Choudhery. He said, more than 500 families along with more than 25,000 domestic animals have been living in odd conditions but the concerned authorities are least bothered.
Chowdhary said that 500 Gujjar families which are at present living at Rakh Brotian , near the border, were provided land at Rakh Brotian, in Distt Samba in the year 1999.
He said that the successive governments assured these 500 families that they will be permanently settled but nothing has been done.
Lal Hussain, Mian Bai, Mohd Yousuf, Billa Laitfcerdar, Ruldu, Hohd Bashir, Mohd Youqub, Sipaya, Alam Hussain, Bashir Ahraed, Quasim Din, Sadiq Hussain, Sharaas Din, Manshah, Lall Hussain, Naib Sarpanch, Bashir Ahmed Khatana and others participated in the protest.
