After witnessing heat wave for the past few weeks, people of Jammu are likely to get much needed relief as Meteorological department has predicted cloudy week ahead with possibilities of light rain or drizzle.

 "The sky will be generally cloudy with the possibility of light rain or drizzle for next five days," said DrMahender Singh 

India Meteorological Department (IMD) scientist and in-charge of Agro meteorology department at SKUAST-Jammu.

He added there are possibilities of light rainfall on 28 and 30th of June and 1st July.

"The maximum temperature may range from 38 degrees Celsius, to 42 degrees Celsius, which is three notches above normal. While minimum temperature may range from 24 degrees Celsius to 29 degrees Celsius which is above normal by degrees Celsius," he added.

"Winds may blow in North East direction with the speed of one kilometer per hour. The morning relative humidity may range from 30 percent to 70 percent and evening relative humidity may range from 20 percent to 50percent during this period," the scientist added.

Meanwhile, Tuesdays' maximum temperature settled at 42 degree Celsius, three notches above the season's average, while the minimum was recorded at 29 degrees Celsius, one notches above the season's average.

According to IMD bulletin the average temperature of Jammu last week from 21 June to 26 June remained around 40 degree Celsius in range of 38.8 to 41.8 degree Celsius while minimum temperature 24 to 27 degree Celsius, which is a few notches above the season's average.
