Rains bring respite from sweltering heat in Jammu

Much to the respite of Jammu people sweltering under intense heat wave intermittent rains lashed the region on Thursday bringing mercury down by several notches.

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has already announced this year arrival of south west monsoon will be on time.

An official of local MeT department said intermittent rains will continue in the region for next couple of days.

The showers have generated hope about good agriculture season this year.

The temperature in Jammu was recorded at 30 degree Celsius which had been around 40 degrees in the past week.
