As part of Mahatma Gandhi's 150th birth anniversary celebrations, the Department of Lifelong Learning, University of Jammu (JU), today organized a group discussion on "Gandhian concept of Nai Talim" and poster making session.
While speaking on the occasion, Dr Kavita Suri, Director, Department of Lifelong Learning, said that as part of Gandhi's 150th birth anniversary celebrations, a movement is catching up across educational institutions in the country to promote this Nai Talim, work education and experiential learning.
Dr Priyanka Sharma, Dr Vivek Sharma, Dr Bharti Prabhakar and Dr Sandeep Singh, Assistant Professors, DLL also expressed their views about Nai Taleem and threw light on the theme.
They said the three pillars of Gandhi's philosophy focused on lifelong character of education, its social character and its form as a holistic process.
For Gandhi, education is the moral development of a person.
The students also participated in the discussion and presented their views on the theme. They made posters on the theme. Two students Roopal and Komalpreet displayed their posters which were well appreciated by all.
