The Supreme Court (SC) will on Friday hear the petition seeking CBI probe into the brutal Rasana (Kathua) rape and murder case.

As per the daily cause list for October 5 of the Supreme Court, the petition titled Parvesh Kumar versus Union of India and ANR, the case is listed for hearing before the Supreme Court on Friday at court number 11.

The petition seeking CBI probe is listed for hearing at serial number 41. Justice Lalit and Justice Chandrachud will hear the petition. Parvesh Kumar is one of the accused in the case.

The accused will be represented by Advocate Ankur Sharma and Advocate Chandan Sharma who will put before the apex court their arguments for demanding CBI probe into the case.

Presently, the hearing of the rape and murder case of the eight year nomadic girl of Rasana is going on a day to day basis in a Pathankot court.

The case was transferred to Pathankot from Kathua by the Supreme Court on the plea filed by the victim's family.

More than eighty witnesses have so far recorded their statements before the Pathankot court, Advocate AK Sawhney, representing the accused in Pathankot court, told Greater Kashmir.        

 "This is for the first time that Supreme Court will hear a petition filed by accused seeking CBI probe into the case," Advocate Ankur Sharma said.
