Mayor, Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), Chander Mohan Gupta, on Saturday visited Nanak Nagar area of the district to take stock of public grievances.
As per the press statement issued by JMC, he was accompanied by MLC Vikram Randhawa, councilor from ward number 43, Surjeet Singh Chowdhary and executive engineer (Trikuta) JMC along with other field staff of the corporation.
During his visit to the area, the release said, Mayor, Chander Mohan Gupta was apprised by locals about various problems being faced by them, including poor sanitation conditions, menace of stray animals, worn out lanes, drains and nullahs flowing through Nanak Nagar area besides other issues.
"The mayor directed the concerned officers on the spot to redress the grievances of the locals," it said.
He also appealed the general public not to use polythene carry bags as according to him, polythene materials block the nullahs and drains.
