Sukesh Khajuria, a social activist and former member of citizen's advisory committee constituted by the state government, has filed a complaint with Lok Sabha (LS) Speaker Sumitra Mahajan seeking action against Dr Farooq Abdullah, NC president and MP, for making "seditious statements" about the status of the other Kashmir.
As per a press statement issued by Khajuria, he has urged the LS Speaker to disqualify Dr Farooq Abdullah for his assertion that the "other Kashmir shall remain with Pakistan".
Khajuria said that Dr Farooq had on November 11 and 15, 2017 and December 2, 2018 claimed that the "Kashmir under the control of Pakistan shall remain with Pakistan even in future".
He said that replying a question in the Lok Sabha, external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj had said that India's consistent and principled position is that the "entire Jammu and Kashmir has been, is, and shall remain as an integral part of India".
He said that on behalf of people of India, both houses of the Parliament unanimously adopted a resolution on February 22, 1994, emphasizing that the "Jammu and Kashmir has been, is and shall be an integral part of India, and that Pakistan must vacate the areas of the Indian State of Jammu & Kashmir, which they have occupied through aggression."
"With these observations, I have sought action against Dr Farooq Abdullah from the State administration under section 124-A RPC (Sedition) and other relevant provision of the law," he added.
