Communist Party of India (Marxist) leader and former MLAfrom Kulgam Assembly constituency, Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami on Sunday statedthat the five years' rule of Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led BJP government inthe Centre is full of failures.
"PM Modi government's five years' report card is before thepeople now and there are only failures in it," Tarigami said while addressingthe 3rd conference of Bhawan Nirman Kamgal Union Kathua at Royal Palace,Chadwal Morh, Kathua.
Some of the big failures of the Modi government, accordingto Tarigami have been demonetisation, GST, "betrayal" with farmers, weakeningof institutions, cultivation of hate and unemployment.
Speaking at the conference that was presided over by AjitKumar, president of Bhawan Nirman Kamgal Union, Tarigmai, the CPI (M) leaderalso mocked the "Ache Din" promises of the BJP government.
"The 2014 election promise of the Modi government to provide10 crore jobs in five years has turned out to be a complete failure. Similarpromises are being doled out to fool the public now. But people of the countryare mature enough to differentiate between delivering and gimmicking," he said.
Om Parkash, general secretary CITU, while addressing theconference, condemned the treatment towards construction workers in the state.He demanded simplifying the process of registration offline and online, pensionscheme at par with Delhi state, minimum wages of Rs 18000 and social security benefitslike ESI, pension and EPF. He also demanded restoration of marriage assistancescheme for the construction workers.
SP Kesar, senior CITU leader delivered inaugural speechhighlighting the demands of Bhawan Nirman Kamgar Union. Others who spoke on the occasion include SewaRam, Hari Singh, Jia Lal, Romesh Chand and Jagdesh Sharma.
