Man shot dead in Bhaderwah in Jammu and Kashmir

"Body has been taken for postmortem and would be handed over to the family after completion of the medico legal formalities," the officer said.

A man was shot dead in Nalthi Pull area of Bhaderwah in Dodadistrict of Jammu and Kashmir shortly after midnight.

Official sources told GNS news agency that the man namelyNayeem Shah, a resident of Mohalla Qilla Bhaderwah was fired upon around 2 am,resulting in his instant death.

A police officer told GNS that a case has been registered andfurther investigations taken up.

"Body has been taken for postmortem and would be handedover to the family after completion of the medico legal formalities," theofficer said.

Asked about the reports that he has been fired upon from aDesi rifle, the officer said: "It is a matter of investigation and detailswould be shared as they emerge."

In wake of Shah's killing, the authorities have decided toimpose restrictions to prevent any disturbances in law and order in Bhaderwah.
