Advisor Khan inspects COVID19 wellness centres

Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Farooq Khan Sunday reiterated that the quarantine centers would be augmented to ensure people lodged at the facilities get proper care amid the COVID19 pandemic.

The Advisor made the remarks during his inspection atseveral quarantine centers in Samba and Kathua districts to take stock ofmeasures by the respective district administrations to contain the disease.

   

 At Samba, the Advisorvisited Radha Swami Ashram and Vijaypur and held an extensive inspection of theongoing quarantine process, sample collection procedure, dispatching of peoplebelonging to other districts and status of overall administrative setup.

Advisor Khan was accompanied by Commissioner Secretary JalShakti Dept (PHE), Ajeet Kumar Sahu, who is also the nodal officer formanagement of inter-state passengers and supplies, Deputy Commissioner, SambaRohit Khajuria and other senior officials.

Advisor Khan also oversaw the dispatching of 1,300 peoplebelonging to other districts which included Udhampur, Reasi and Kulgam from thequarantine facility.

Later Advisor Khan also held a meeting with all the districtofficers to review the measures taken by the district administration during thepandemic.

At Kathua, the Advisor visited Lakhanpur and reviewed thefacilities provided to people at quarantine centre.

Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Sanjeev Verma; DeputyCommissioner Kathua, OP Sharma and others accompanied the Advisor during thetour.

The Advisor was briefed about the various medical facilitiesput in place for quarantine people, sample collection process and registration.

Advisor Khan also inaugurated an open Sarai for people whoare being evacuated from different parts of country.

The Advisor asked the authorities to quarantine the peoplearriving from various parts of country in their home districts so that peoplewould face little troubles.

Meanwhile, the Advisorreviewed the arrangements made for smooth handling of J&K residents, whoare coming from different parts of the country, at Lakhanpur FacilitationCentre.

The Advisor was told that a special Help Desk wasfunctioning 24×7 to guide incoming passengers and for necessaryannouncements. 

The provision of passenger sheds, food, drinking water,toilets and security has also been put in place for the returnees, who have towait at Lakhanpur till the completion of necessary dispatch process.

Speaking on theoccasion, Advisor Khan appreciated the district administration for making elaboratearrangements at the facilitation center and for making dedicated efforts tomanage the influx of passengers.

The Advisor stressed on devising a robust action plan tomaintain testing record of truck drivers who were residents of Jammu andKashmir and entering through Lakhanpur.

Earlier, Khan inaugurated specially installed hanger shedfor passengers with the accommodating capacity of over 300 people.
