AICC leader asks BJP when it will restore statehood to J&K

All India Congress Committee (AICC) senior leader Rajni Patil Thursday asked the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to clear its stand on when they would restore statehood of J&K.

Addressing a news conference here, Patil, who is also the Congress incharge for J&K affairs, said BJP should make it to clear on when it would restore the statehood of J&K and safeguard jobs and lands of Jammu and Kashmir like in Himachal Pradesh.

She also said that the situation was not conducive to hold District Development Council (DDC) polls due to COVID19 pandemic.

“Our senior leader and ex-Member Parliament Madan Lal Sharma is in the Intensive Care Unit. Our Women’s Wing President, the son of Madan Lal Sharma, and youth president are also infected with COVID19,” Patil said. She said the Congress leaders had also been deprived of security cover despite threats to them.

Patil also put a question mark on the credibility of the local BJP leaders saying national leaders were campaigning for the saffron party for the local polls.  “Do they have doubt about the BJP leaders of J&K?” she said.
